Who is Sublime Designs?

Sublime Designs was born as a result of my personal circumstances. 

You see I had worked in the corporate world for over 10 years and established a career in Human Resources which I thoroughly enjoyed. 

I then decided to start a family and eagerly awaited the arrival of my bundle of joy.  Connor arrived in August 2008 and is the greatest source of bliss in my life.

In November 2008, whilst on Maternity Leave, my role was made redundant and I had some decisions to make.  I am a person who believes in following your passions including within your work.  After all, if you're going to spend the majority of your time doing this activity you should enjoy it, otherwise it's madness!!

It has been observed by my family and friends that I am an "ideas" person, I even had a special book where I would write them down.  I just never did anything with them!  Well now I had the perfect opportunity to reflect on my ideas, passions, goals, career, personal values and create a new path for myself.

So I looked around my home and saw something I had created which people always commented on as being such a great idea. 

Years ago I was untangling my necklaces trying to get the one I wanted to suit the outfit I was wearing and I decided there had to be a better way of sorting my jewellery so I could see it, pick and wear it without any hassle.  I made my first Jewellery Board.  It held my necklaces and earrings and I loved it!  Accessorising was now so simple!!  My friends and family agreed it was such a simple idea and yet so convenient.

I confess to being an organisation freak, yes I love stationary, I love organising everything from furniture in my home to my alphabetised DVD collection, so this was really an extension of something I did naturally.  And I figured why not use these items to decorate my home at the same time.

And Sublime Designs was born!  Style with a Purpose!  Make life simpler and more colourful!  Turn a frustration into a centrepiece of style!

My product range has grown and grown and grown and I am excited about the future and its possibilities.  It blows my mind that people want to buy something I created and display it in their home.  And to think I will be supporting myself and my little man, Connor, with something I evolved from the ground up is something I am proud of.

It pays to be an optimist and see opportunities in situations that are challenging, I couldn't live any other way.
